Comix Zone is a beat em' up for the Sega Genesis that has a great style with some gameplay faults that are really unnecessary. Firstly, the graphics are easily some of the best on the Genesis. And the animation is flawless for Genesis standards. This game might be a beat em' up, but it doesn't play exactly like Double Dragon, Final Fight, or Streets of Rage. Instead you have to find enemies spots that are not in defense. You know what, I like it. It's a good turn of pace. There's even a good amount of variety in the game. Sounds like a great game right? Unfortunately, some stupid things plague Comix Zone. Some games are hard like Ninja Gaiden, the Mega Man series, and Contra. But when the player dies, it's their own fault. Comix Zone is unforgiving for all the wrong reasons. No 1Ups, 1 continue, good luck son! Get this. When you destroy objects, you actually lose health. And most times you no choice but to destroy them. Later in the game the combat will start to get tedious since enemies take many hits. Not to mention, there's only one enemy at a time. Overall, if you're a Genesis and beat em' up fan, you might as well check this out.
